Muses come and muses go. No one can expect when the inspiration dies... or when it lives. It comes at any given time, and hits you like a stone. And there's never any indication on how long they'll stay. But that's not the point here.

We're growing bigger and bigger each day, one muse at a time. And while we're not as big as other museboxes, we have quite the variety. And I'd love for all of us to get to know each other a bit more. That being said:

o1. Log in to normal journal, or your default journal. We're all friends here, seeing your RL-LJ isn't gonna be a big deal, promise.
o2. Comment with said name. Either retype the < lj user =" " > tag and fill in the blanks, or just utilize the lovely "<" to leave a blank comment.
o3. Sign out there and log in to appropriate character journal.
o4. Reply to the comment you just made, much in the same fashion as step o2, with the exception that I ask you to include character name and their respective canon. This is to mostly help me keep up on tags to the comm.
o5. Repeat steps o3 and o4 for your whole muse roster.
→ Only one comment for each character is necessary. So if you have multiple journals, no worries. You don't have to log in and comment with each of them. I, for one, know what it's like to have a dozen under a single character.
→ That being said, multiples of characters are always welcome. Just because Person A plays the same character as Person B doesn't mean that only one or the other can be said Character. Since I spent four years in a single fandom before I started to branch out into others, expect it to be an occasional occurrence.
→ Canon and Original OC's are welcomed, also, as are AUs of characters.
→ Example of format will be given by me and my muses just in case my wording and explanation confuses you. I sometimes fail at that. ^^;
o6. Squee at our EPIC roster and the somewhat neat way I tried to organize them all. And plan on playing nice or not so nice with all of them. :D
→ Feel free to come back to this post and add more characters when the whim comes. But don't worry about taking anyone off if you happen to lose the muse. 'd like to keep them there regardless. Think of this as a year/guest book to see who's come and went. And possibly who might stop by next~

Whether it's a text, phone call, email, or just a simple voice message, this is the place to be.

Welcome to the

Using character journals, throw up individual posts, being as standard or detailed as you wish with contact instructions. Include an image of character phones as well, if you wish. Have a good time with this! Enjoy yourself!

Because phones are fun, and texting back and forth tends to produce much fun tymes!
The smell comes as the first wave to your conscious; a subtle mix of lemon pine and alcohol. It's clean. It's fresh. It's very sterile. And as you open your eyes, the scene does well to support that claim. White walls, maybe a window if you're lucky. And barely the necessities that make a room livable: just a blank desk and the bed you're laying on. Maybe even a cork board to document your progress.

What's that? This can't be right. You were in the middle of the apocalypse? A war? Don't be silly! That was just a dream. Another hallucination fabricated by your own broken conscious. Because none of that was actually real. This is the life you live. This is the world that you have to face, now, without powers or battles or mortal enemies.

But then, that's why you're here, isn't it? To work through these dreams and the silly notion that you're supposed to be somewhere else, living a different existence. Because someone very dear to you was worried and wanted nothing but the best to aid in your recovery. Sure, it seems a little scary and the food might not be all too good. The orderlies sometimes have to get a little rough and the medication can have occasional side effects. But it's all for your own good! Because we here at Arkham, we want nothing more than to watch you leave as a happy and healthy member of society once more.

After all, a mind is such a terrible thing to waste...

"People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define "reality". But what does it mean to be "correct" or "true"? Merely vague concepts… their "reality" may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?"
                                              ▬ Uchiha Itachi

[ OoC: You have the choice of making your character a resident or staff member of the Arkham Mental Institute. All patients admitted have the shared condition of believing their canon lives are real. And, for whatever reason, are resisting the idea that this is the reality they live in. But whether that's true or not, well...

Be careful what you trust. Not even the staff are completely sure what's tangible and what's make believe, anymore.
No matter whether you're sleeping in a bed, a pile of straw, or in one of the hammocks below deck, the smell of salt and the sea comes to you even before you open your eyes. The light of the sun peaks through the windows and port holes to rouse you from your heavy slumber. All hands both above and below deck are working hard to battle through the storm that hit the night before. And survival was to be the reward for such diligence. Dawn is upon you, now, and the ship is already alive with activity.

A brand new day is here for you to live.

The distant isles give promise of excitement mystery. The clear blue of the ocean's waves hold the allure of limitless possibilities.

What adventures await you?

[ Characters can choose whether to be a pirate or a soldier in the Royal Navy or anywhere in between. I know you guys wanna fight each other, so have at it and enjoy! Minor note: Changed the header image in the comm's main page. Whadja think? ]

It doesn't matter what you were doing before. It doesn't matter how you got here, or how long you've stayed so far. The distinct smell of char and ash is what you smell when you finally decide to open your eyes, along with a collection of other less than pleasant odors. The bars to your cell are open as they most often are. Because when the temperature ranges from seven hundred degrees in the sun to three hundred below zero in the shade, there's no way you're getting out of this triple maximum security prison.

You've been sent here because a formal and regular correctional institution seemed unfitting for your crime(s). And whatever deity of the universe exists has it out to see that you get the worse punishment imaginable. Because the guards aren't the only thing to worry about here. And even if you manage to survive the prison fights and death games the occupants have a tendency to play in order to pass the time, there's always the Hell Hounds to contend with. Play nice with the other prisoners or not, but remember, when it's Feeding Time, it's back into the cells. Otherwise you'll find yourself staring into the cold dead eyes and feel the sharp teeth of your maker. That is, unless you can convince the warden's dogs to like you and good luck with that. It's all a matter of who you can trust, but even that becomes a little foggy around the edges when the details get involved.

The choice is up to you:

[ Finally, a non-AU event! Basically, whatever infraction (big or small, real or imagined guilt-fu ish go!) your character made in their respective canons, they've been sent here to live out their sentence. Powers are limited, of course, and whatever weapons they carried have been taken. But as we all know, anything can be made into a weapon (Hell, Riddick killed someone with a metal teacup). What you choose to do with your time is your own. So have fun and go wild!

Taking a step past the school doors, one can expect to be instantly assaulted by the cold and crisp air that has overtaken the British Isles. There's a fresh blanket of snow that seemed to have appeared overnight. And there's a distinct scent of pine that simply places you in a potentially lighter mood as it indicates what you had already known.

Winter was here.

The term has ended for almost a week now, and most of the students have already gone home for the winter holiday. But for a select few who have decided to remain at the castle -- for those who truly had no other place to spend the season -- fear not! The Headmaster and Teaching Staff have not forgotten about their stranded little owls.

In light of the celebration and the holiday season, they have devised the following event:

So brighten up those smiles and fluff up those scarves. Because you, my little darlings, have no where else to go other than Hogsmeade but that's not very far~. But, then again, why would want to? Because here, almost anything's possible.

[ I know I said that the Full Moon Festival would come after the Halloween event, but given how many months it's been, I thought this was more fitting and appropriate with the season? You know, Thanksgiving. Christmas. Holiday in general with lots of snow and snow fights. I promise there's no mistletoe unless you want there to be~

Plus, I've got a lot of fighting events lined up after this. THAT'S a promise. So, one more little squibble of innocence before the violence comes?

It's the day that most kids look forward to every year, second only to Christmas, and maybe even the Fourth of July. But where Christmas has presents and the Fourth has fireworks, this holiday has something far better: Candy. That's right, guys an ghouls, it's that time of year again where boys and girls of all ages get to dress up and parade around the neighborhood/city/town collecting candy and eating themselves sick with high doses of sugar and sweets.

This year, mom and dad have allowed everyone to go out with a group of friends, with the assurance that the older kids will take care of and look after the younger ones. But even the best laid plans can go awry.

Some of the kids will lose their way, and the group finds themselves wandering deeper and deeper into unknown territory. While others will decided to cause some mischief of their own. But whether it's trick-or-treating, terrorizing kids, or just trying to find your way home alive, you can bet everyone who goes out tonight will be embarking on an unexpected adventure. Because:

[ Remember all those old 90's Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus and all that? It's time to relive them again and bring them into the 21st Century. So have at it, guys!

Note: The Full Moon Festival will resume after this event. I just thought it'd be a fun thing to do for the month of October. ^^

You've dreaded the day for months now, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end.

But what an end it will be.

Classes are set to start in a week or two and you've already got all your things arranged. Or rather, you assume they're already packed and ready for the new school year as mommy and/or daddy dearest kick you out of the car and drive off, leaving you to stand alone and befuddled on the platform. But have no fear, there is a silver lining. The headmaster has decided to allow the returning students to come back early for a week of rest and relaxation before the new arrivals come scrambling in, bright eyed and in awe of all the wonders that the school has to offer. And that means taking advantage of all the free time and slightly extra space for some exploration and catching up with old friends. Or whatever your wee little heart desires.

All activities are limited to the school grounds (so no wandering off to Hogsmeade Village). But that doesn't mean you still can't enjoy the time you have.

[ Basically? Characters, choose your houses and mingle to your heart's content. Common rooms will be pre-set but feel free to wander around the place and make new threads. Chances are you know the school better than I could ever describe it. And feel free to spread out between the four houses. Variety is the spice of life, after all~ Now go crazy! ]
